Privacy Policy — Dilosof
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Dilosof ("the app") is a vocabulary-learning app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We collect what is needed to run the app, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
- Account information (optional). If you create an account, we store the email address and password you sign up with (the password only as a secure hash), so you can sign in and sync your progress across devices. You can use the app without an account.
- Display name (optional). Teachers and students in a class may set a name, which is shown to the other members of that class.
- Learning progress and activity. Which words you've studied, exercise and quiz results, streaks, assignments, chosen level, languages and settings.
- Content you write. Your own words and the sentences you write for the "check my sentence" feature.
- Purchases. When you buy a subscription or energy, we store the store's purchase record (product, purchase token, expiry) to unlock what you paid for. Payment details are handled by Google Play or the App Store; we never see your card.
- Device identifiers. A push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push) so we can send your daily reminder and class notifications,. The app does not access your device's advertising identifier.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, files or precise location. Pronunciation (text-to-speech) and speaking practice (speech recognition) use your phone's built-in speech services; we do not receive or store audio.
How we use your information
- To run the app: save and sync your progress, show your words, exercises, classes and assignments
- To manage your account and unlock purchases
- To send reminders and class notifications (you can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings)
- To show optional rewarded ads that give you extra energy, and to prevent abuse of rewards and invitations
Who we share it with
- Supabase — hosts the app's database and accounts (data processor).
- OpenAI — when you use "check my sentence", the sentence you wrote is sent to OpenAI's API to be checked. It is not linked to your email, and OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
- Google AdMob — only when you choose to watch a rewarded ad for extra energy. Every ad request is marked as child-directed, so ads are non-personalised and limited to content suitable for all ages; the app does not give AdMob the advertising identifier. AdMob may still receive your IP address (approximate location), an app-scoped device identifier and ad interaction data to deliver ads and prevent fraud. See how Google uses this data.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications.
- Google Play and Apple App Store — to process and verify purchases.
- Your teacher — if you join a class, your teacher sees your name and your progress on the class's assignments.
We do not sell your information or share it with data brokers. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Deleting your account and data
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself, inside the app: Profile → your account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you can't open the app, email poladmhr@gmail.com from the address you signed up with (or, for an account without email, include the referral code shown in the app's Profile). We delete the account, progress, class memberships, written content and device tokens within 30 days. Purchase records may be kept as long as required by tax and accounting law.
Children's privacy
Dilosof is used by learners of all ages, including school students who join a class created by their teacher. We collect only what the app needs to work (listed above), ads are always child-directed and non-personalised, and the advertising identifier is never accessed. An email address is not required. Where a child under the age of digital consent in their country uses the app, we rely on the parent, guardian or school to give consent. Parents and guardians can ask us to review or delete a child's data at any time using the contact below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
